Welcome to the Jeffrey Alexander Memorial Fund Website.
Jeffrey was killed tragically at the age of 26 as a result of an automobile accident on June 12, 2011 while on duty as a Chemung County Sheriff's Deputy.
Two funds have been established in Jeffrey's Memory.
The first, is the Jeffrey Alexander Memorial fund. This fund has been established to promote Jeff's spirit of kindness while reflecting his outstanding character. Jeff was always willing to lend a helping hand and we will continue to do so in his memory.
We will award a $500 annual scholarship to a deserving EFA student every June for a minimum of 20 years. Students will undergo an application process and our board and will choose the winner based on criteria set forth in the application. The first scholarship will be awarded in June of 2012.
This fund may also donate monies to others in need of a helping hand through small gifts or donations to deserving charities.
We hope to establish a memorial, not only to honor Jeff's memory, but to inspire others to treat one another with respect and dignity as Jeffrey did, while investing in and improving the community that Jeff loved so much.
The second fund is the Tyler Anthony Thomas Bridges Trust Fund. Tyler is the son of Jeffrey's fiance Lindsey. Tyler lived with Jeff and Lindsey for 4 years and Jeff thought of him as his own. This fund has been established primarily to assist with educational costs. This fund may assist with medical or well being costs as determined appropriate by the board.
